Vote For John Travise

Local Solutions, Not Party Politics

My Bio

Army veteran with over a decade of service including combat deployments to Iraq. CISSP-certified cybersecurity professional managing enterprise accounts for critical infrastructure clients. Solar homeowner running a 8.9 kW rooftop system with 28 kWh battery storage in District 6.

John is running for SRP Council because he got tired of watching his utility punish solar customers, hand data centers discounted power, and operate with almost no public accountability. His opponents are backed by AZFRG, a corporate PAC funded by over $183,000 from companies that do business with SRP. John is funded by neighbors.

His platform focuses on three things: making energy affordable by reforming SRP's punitive rate structures, protecting Arizona's water by requiring data centers to pay their fair share and adopt zero-water cooling technology, and bringing transparency to an institution that has operated like a private club. John and his wife Sara are running together as the Energy Freedom Team, the first candidates in this race to produce Spanish-language voter outreach materials. They are endorsed by AFSCME.

My Key Issues

Environment

Arizona's abundant sunshine makes large-scale solar one of the cheapest sources of electricity available — and unlike natural gas, it doesn't require imported fuel subject to volatile markets. I support an energy strategy that prioritizes affordability and price stability, using renewables where they lower costs and holding SRP accountable for passing those savings on to ratepayers.

Water Conservation

SRP manages both power and water, and in a desert facing long-term drought, every drop matters. I support investing in water-efficient infrastructure and technology — from reduced-loss delivery systems to smart metering — that stretches our supply further without shifting costs unfairly onto ratepayers.

Water Conservation

Data centers consume enormous amounts of water for cooling, and SRP has been approving these facilities without adequate public scrutiny of their impact on our shared water resources. I support requiring transparency and accountability for large commercial users — if SRP is going to prioritize data center growth, ratepayers deserve assurance that our water supply won't be compromised in quality or availability to subsidize it.
